HONG KONG--Hong Kong's composite consumer price index in June rose 3.6% from a year earlier, slowing from a 3.7% rise in May as the increase in private housing rentals moderated during the period, the Census and Statistics Department said Monday.

June's CPI was in line with the inflation forecast of 3.6% by economists surveyed earlier by Dow Jones Newswires.
