PARIS--Confidence in France's manufacturing sector remained unchanged in November, slightly above the long-term average.
The monthly indicator of manufacturing confidence was 103 in November, the same level as in October, statistics agency Insee said on Thursday. The agency revised the indicator in October from 102.
The long-term average for the indicator is 100. Economists polled by The Wall Street Journal had seen the November's confidence reading at 103.
Output expectations of business leaders for the manufacturing sector as a whole fell two points in November, Insee's survey showed. Their assessment of recent production levels inched up, while their order books were thinner.A wider measure of business confidence--which includes services, retail, construction and wholesale--was stable at 102.
