New Zealand's food price index fell 0.1% in November from October, according to Statistics New Zealand.

After seasonal adjustment, food prices rose 0.3%, it added.

Annually, food prices rose 0.6%, reflecting higher prices for vegetables, dairy and ready-to-eat-food.

"Fresh milk prices rose 6.1% in the year, to an average price of $3.33 (New Zealand dollars) for two liters of blue-top milk," said Matt Haigh, consumer prices manager at Statistics New Zealand.

This is the highest annual increase in milk prices since November 2014, when the average price was $3.71, he added.
