Malaysia's international reserves totaled $96.4 billion at Dec. 15, the same as two weeks earlier, the central bank said in a statement Thursday.

The reserves are sufficient to finance 8.3 months of retained imports, and are 1.2 times the country's short-term external debt, Bank Negara Malaysia said.

The central bank didn't give a reason for the unchanged level of reserves.
