BRUSSELS--Belgium's annual inflation rate jumped back above 2.0% in December for the first time since August, with energy products pushing consumer prices higher, data showed Friday.

Belgium's central bank said the consumer price index rose by 2.03% in December, compared to a 1.77% annual increase in November.

Energy prices rose 5.49% in December on the year, the biggest increase since August 2012.

Stripping out energy prices, the annual inflation rate hit 1.65% in December, down from 1.72% in November.
