BEIJING -- An official gauge of China's factory activity edged down in December, but stayed in expansionary territory, official data showed Sunday.
China's official manufacturing purchasing managers index fell to 51.4 in December from 51.7 the previous month, pointing to a slight slowing of growth momentum in the world's second-largest economy. The index has stayed above the 50 mark that separates an expansion of activity from a contraction for five straight months.
