Austrian inflation rose to 1.4% in December from 1.3% in November, its highest since November 2014, when it was 1.7%, the country's statistics office said Wednesday.
Consumer prices rose by 0.5% in December from November, it said.
Restaurant services were the most important factor behind the increase but fuel and heating oil were noticeable price drivers due to their low level in December 2015.
Consumer prices measured according to harmonized European Union standards rose 0.7% on the month in December and increased 1.6% on the year.
