BANGKOK--Thailand's industrial sentiment strengthened in October as business activity expanded ahead of the year-end holiday, the Federation of Thai Industries said Wednesday.
The Thai industries sentiment index rose to a seven-month high of 86.5 in October from 84.8 in September, according to a monthly report from the FTI, which surveyed 1,205 respondents from 45 industrial groups.
The FTI credited the improved reading to a surge in domestic and international orders to meet year-end demand.
The future industrial sentiment index also rose, to 102.9 in October from 102.4 in September.
However, the report said industrial operators remain worried about higher production costs, competitive pricesand global economic uncertainty.
