WARSAW--Expansion in Poland's manufacturing sector accelerated in November, Markit Economics said Thursday, reflecting a renewed increase in the volume of incoming new orders, which led to faster growth of both output and employment.

A survey of 300 industrial companies showed that the manufacturing purchasing managers index, a gauge of manufacturing activity, was at 51.9 in November compared with 50.2 in October.

A PMI figure below 50 indicates a contraction in activity, while a number above that level signals expansion.

The volume of new export orders declined further and average input prices rose at the fastest rate in four-and-a-half years, Markit also said.
